Weekend Guide: November 9 - 11

Let us do all of the research so you don't have to! Here's our roundup of family-friendly events and things to do with kids in St. Petersburg for November 9 to 11.



Friday, November 9th


Open Gym at Bayside Sports Academy

Open Gym is open to children ages 6 & under every Friday. $6/child. 9:00-11:00am.


Terrific Tots at Great Explorations Children's Museum

This members-only program is offered when school is in session for children ages 1-3 and a caregiver. Join the museum for songs and movement, story time, an art or craft exploration and community time for tots and their adults! 9:30-10:00am.


Toddler Early Literacy Program at St. Petersburg Main Library

Join the library for story time featuring movement, music and fun with rhymes, stories, and puppets! For children ages 1 - 3 with a caregiver. 10:15am and 11:00am.

Holiday Turkey Craft at Growing Up

Come get in the fall spirit at Growing Up and have your little ones make a Thanksgiving turkey! This is an activity included in the cost of the day pass or with membership. Please sign up to save your spot. 10:30-11:30am.


Preschool Story Time at Gulf Beaches Public Library

Preschool-aged children can enjoy songs, stories and crafts with a mice theme! 10:30am.


St. Raphael's Fall Festival at St. Raphael's Catholic School

For over 10 years, friends and family gather for great fun and treats at this beautiful waterfront fairground! Come by for great food, awesome rides, Bingo, games, and so much more! 12:00pm-11:00pm.


Internet Safety for Kids at Seminole Community Library

Join Garfield and his friends and learn the importance of internet privacy when using the computer. Minimum of 3 kids need for program to take place. Each participant will receive a free pair of earbuds and other fun giveaways! Space is limited and registration is required. 4:00-5:00pm.


Reading Fun Storytime at Childs Park Community Library

Children in grades PreK-2 and their caregivers are invited for stories, music and fun! 4:15-5:00pm.


S.T.R.E.A.M. Club at Childs Park Community Library

Explore Science, Technology, Reading, Engineering, Arts, and Math with hands-on science experiments, coding, stories, and more! For children in grades 3-5. 4:15-5:00pm


Parents' Night Out at Great Explorations

This monthly program allows parents to drop off their kiddos ages 4-10 at Great Explorations Children's Museum from 6-10pm for a night of play! Cost is $25 for museum members or $35 for non-members and includes pizza, museum play, science show and a movie. 6:00-10:00pm.


St. Pete Shuffle at St. Petersburg Shuffleboard Club

Friday nights are free and open to the public at the St. Petersburg Shuffleboard Club! Bring your own food and beverages and enjoy the courts. 7:00-10:00pm.


"Legends of the Fall" at the SPC Planetarium & Observatory

The autumn skies are filled with constellations intertwined in Greek myth and lore. Learn some of the stories playing out in the evening sky this fall at SPC Planetarium's Free Friday Shows. Children must be at least 5 years old to attend. 7:00pm & 8:15pm.

Saturday, November 10th

Saturday Morning Market at Al Lang Stadium

This lively and huge outdoor market is open from October to May in the parking lot of Al Lang Stadium. Live music, a variety of vendors and a strong sense of community make this market the heart of St. Pete. 9:00am-2:00pm.


Toddler Yoga at The Body Electric Yoga Company

This is a great opportunity to introduce your toddler to breathing, stretching, story-time, coloring and yoga postures. Through fun interactive songs, storybooks, and movement, toddlers will learn basic yoga. Kids love to imitate and pretend, so it is highly encouraged that all care givers be dressed and ready to participate! One free kid per BE member or $8 per extra kid or non-member kid. 9:00- 9:45am.


Saturdays at the Morean Arts Center

Saturdays @ the Morean is a free family drop-in art studio hosted by the Morean Arts Center. 10:00am-3:30pm.


Family Fun Day at Pinellas Pioneer Settlement

Come out to the 13th Annual Family Fun Day at the Pinellas Pioneer Settlement! Free admission, games, crafts, activities, $1 hayrides, and concession available. 10:00am-3:00pm.


Farm City Day at Heritage Village

This free event educates citizens about agriculture and enhances links between rural and urban dwellers. Activities include children's stations, making butter and ice cream, milking goats, feeding calves, and petting 4H animals. Visitors also learn how to plant and care for gardens. 10:00am-2:00pm.


Veterans Boat Parade at Madeira Beach

The Veterans Boat Parade is a day parade that honors veterans and active service men and women from all branches of the Military. Opening ceremonies, on the main dock of the American Legion Post 273, start at 10am. The parade will start at 11am and proceed north to the canal of Redington Drive, then turn south to Treasure Island. 10:00am-1:00pm.


Insect Trek at Boyd Hill Nature Preserve

Bees, bugs, and beetles oh my! Join this guided hike to explore and find insects in their homes. Fun and informative for all ages. Cost is $3 per adult and $1.50 per child. 10:00am.


Family Day: Lakota Legends at The James Museum

Bring the kids every second Saturday for fun with an artsy, western, or wildlife twist! Enjoy themed activities, including storytelling, a kid-friendly tour highlighting special works of art, and a chance to get creative with a hands-on art workshop. This month's program explores the stories, art, and culture of Lakota Sioux Indians. 10:30am-12:30pm.


Paint Me a Story Time at Practically Pikasso

Listen to a fun Thanksgiving story then chose from a turkey figurine or a salad plate for handprint turkey fun - or paint both! Perfect for pint size painters and their parents. Cost is $15 per painter in advance or $18 for walk-ins. 10:30-11:30am.

Little Surrealists Tour at The Dali Museum

Kids ages 4-11 are invited to bring their families on a special 1-hour Museum tour. Free with museum admission. 11:00am-12:00pm.


Storytime at Barnes & Noble

Join Barnes & Noble for a storytime and activities featuring "Juno Valentine and the Magical Shoes." 11:00am.

10th Anniversary Party at Noisemakers

Noisemakers will be celebrating its 10th Anniversary this November! There will be games, raffles, special guest performances, food and drinks, and a whole lot more. 12:00pm-11:00pm.


DillyDally with Dali at The Dali

Children ages 4-11 can discover the creative world of Dali through games, puzzles and arts + crafts activities which educate and encourage family interaction. Cost is free. 12:00-2:30pm.


Fall Crafts for Kids at Seminole Community Library

Drop in before the Saturday Family Movie Matinee and enjoy a fall make-and-take craft program for grades PK-5! 12:30-1:30pm.


Night Hike at Boyd Hill Nature Preserve

Join Rangers for a popular guided hike. Explore the preserve after hours in a small group setting. Look for alligators, listen for bats, and search for scorpions! Limited space available. $5/adult or $3/child. 6:00pm.

Sunday, November 11th


Great Connections at Great Explorations

For this event, Great Explorations Children’s Museum will open early for children with special needs and their families to enjoy Great Connections, a sensory-friendly event. Great Explorations will close to the public, offer discounted admission and provide a “cool down” room for families who need to take a break. Cost is $5 per person or free for members. 10:00am-12:00pm.

Alligator Walk at Boyd Hill Nature Preserve

Learn about the American alligator, Florida’s state reptile, which calls our wetlands home. Cost is $3 per adult or $1.50 per child. 11:30am.


Family Yoga Class at Peace of Yoga

Kidding Around Yoga Classes with Desiree utilize yoga poses creatively tucked into partner yoga, games and activities, original music, stories and more. This yoga class is specifically designed for kids ages 2 & up. Donations accepted. 11:30am-12:30pm.


St. Raphael's Fall Festival at St. Raphael's Catholic School

For over 10 years, friends and family gather for great fun and treats at this beautiful waterfront fairground! Come by for great food, awesome rides, Bingo, games, and so much more! 12:00pm-7:00pm.


Sundays at the Morean Center for Clay

Sundays @ The Morean is a free family drop-in clay play session hosted by the Morean Center for Clay. Clay, tools and working tables provided, please bring your imagination. This session is open to all families with children ages 3 & up. 1:00-3:00pm.


2nd Sunday at Tampa Bay Turners

Play and swim every second Sunday at Tampa Bay Turners! The gym is open for kids ages 4 and under, and the pool is open for all. Cost is $10 per family. 3:00-5:00pm.
