A list of family-friendly Halloween and fall events in St. Petersburg, Florida.

In the Sunshine City, you don’t have to wait until October 31st to put those adorable costumes to use. St. Petersburg is brewing with slightly spooky and family-friendly activities all month long.

We’ve found all of the best and most unique events that St. Pete and the surrounding areas have to offer for kids this Halloween season. Parents, you’ll enjoy these too!

Kids Night Out Screamin' Splash Bash

When: Friday, October 4, 7-11pm

Where: Seminole Recreation Department

What: Come join fellow ghosts and ghouls for a spooky good time at Seminole Rec Center for Kids Night Out! The theme is Screamin' Splash Bash so bring your swimsuit. Pizza will be provided and concession snacks will be available for purchase. For children in grades K-5th. Members $10/ Non-Members $15.

“Legends of the Fall”

When: Fridays in October, 7pm & 8:15pm

Where: SPC Planetarium & Observatory

What: During October, St. Petersburg College’s Planetarium and Observatory disguises itself as the “Haunted Planetarium.” Here, learn all about the Greek myth and lore playing out in the autumn skies, but watch out for ghosts, ghouls, zombies, and other creatures of the night. Parents, this one can get a little scary. The suggested minimum age is 7.

Pumpkin Palooza Family Fall Fest

When: Saturday, October 5, 11am-4pm

Where: Northside Baptist Church

What: Join the GFWC Junior Woman's Club for the 16th Annual Pumpkin Palooza Family Fall Festival! This great family festival is fun for all. Pumpkin Palooza is open to the public and features kid’s inflatables, petting zoo, games, prizes, a pumpkin patch, pumpkin decorating, crafts, face and hair painting, opportunity baskets, vendors and much more.

Autumn Harvest Festival at Boyd Hill Nature Preserve

When: Saturday, October 12, 10am-3pm

Where: Pinellas Pioneer Settlement

What: Celebrate the fall season and pioneer traditions at Boyd Hill Nature Preserve’s annual Autumn Harvest Festival! Hayrides, crafts, games, live music, food trucks and more! Activity tickets are available for purchase. Also, join in on the pie-eating contest hosted by Village Inn. Free admission; all ages welcome.

Creepy Crafts

When: Saturday, October 12, 2-3pm

Where: Gulfport Public Library

What: Join the library for creepy crafts to celebrate October! Wear a costume, do some crafts, and take home some tasty treats. For grades K-5.

Pint-Sized Pumpkin Party

When: Saturday, October 12, 5:30-6:30pm

Where: Highland Recreation Complex

What: Enjoy games, snacks, and crafts during this fun-filled fall event! Come dressed in costume for a contest and parade. Preregistration is strongly recommended. Open to ages 6 & under. Cost is $8/child before 10/7, $10/child after 10/7.

Pumpkin Patch by IMPACT

When: Opens Sunday, October 13

Where: Pasadena Community Church

What: Pasadena Community Church's Youth Ministry is hosting this pumpkin patch that opens on October 13th. There will be a big variety of pumpkins and sizes plus photo ops and the occasional movie in the patch. Shoppers are free to enter and roam the patch and take pictures. Pumpkins are priced by size.

Sacred Heart Fall Festival

When: October 16-20

Where: Sacred Heart Parish Pinellas Park

What: Come enjoy 5 days of rides, food, games, beer/wine, and entertainment on 3 stages. Unlimited ride armbands are $20/day or $75/4 days. Individual ticket sheets are available.

Sensory Trick or Treat Time

When: Thursday, October 17, 6-8pm

Where: Sky Zone Clearwater

What: Grab your costumes and come trick or treat around Sky Zone with characters. This is an extra special addition to Sensory Night. Just $10 for all Sensory Needs participants; $16/person for friends and family to Join.

Trunk or Treat

When: Friday, October 18, 6-8pm

Where: Shore Acres Elementary

What: Students and the surrounding community are welcome to join in costume and “Trunk or Treat” from car-to-car with the Shore Acres PTA. A giant rock climbing wall add to the fun activities.

Patch Bash

When: Friday, October 18, 6-8pm

Where: St. Paul United Methodist Church

What: Join the St. Paul UMC Pumpkin Patch for a Trunk-or-Treat, two bounce houses, games, snacks, and lots of free fall fun. The Largo PD and Sheriff's Department will be special guests. Kona Ice will also be available for purchase. Bring the whole family. Costumes are encouraged!

Fearstyle Friday

When: Friday, October 18, 7-10:30pm

Where: Willis S. Johns Recreation Center

What: Open to children in grades 2-5, this St. Petersburg Parks & Recreation event features a haunted house, inflatables, dance room, arts & crafts, pizza, prizes, and more! Tickets are $10.

Trick or Treat at Sky Zone

When: Saturday, October 19, 9:30-11am

Where: Sky Zone Clearwater

What: Sky Zone is throwing one awesome Halloween Party! So many characters will be dressed up in their Halloween costumes and giving out treats. Guests will trick or treat around the park, followed by jumping with the characters. Cost is $16 per child with free accompanying adults.

Halloween Party

When: Saturday, October 19, 10am-12pm

Where: We Rock the Spectrum

What: Put on your costumes and join We Rock the Spectrum for some games, candy, crafts, and fun! This family-friendly event is included with regular Open Play admission price (no passes). All party guests have access to the gym's swings, zipline, play area, trampoline, dress-up, etc.

Where: Oakhurst United Methodist Church

What: This free family-friendly event celebrates fall with games, prizes, a Halloween costume contest, face painting, balloon animals, food trucks, and live entertainment with The Monster Gospels.

Where: J.W. Cate Recreation Center

What: Enjoy prizes, games, inflatables and more at St. Petersburg Parks and Recreation’s Howl-O-Fest. Tickets are $10 per child on the day of the event or $7 until Oct. 18. Admission is free for parents, and proceeds benefit the J.W. Cate, Gladden Park and Walter Fuller Recreation Centers' Teen Programs.

The Haunted Hike

When: Saturday, October 19, 6-9pm

Where: Euclid St. Paul's Neighborhood

What: Tour the creepy alleys and brick-lined streets of St Petersburg's most paranormal neighborhood. Euclid St. Paul’s 16th annual Haunted Hike includes skits and sideshows sure to enchant the whole family. The one-hour hike is $8 per adult and $4 per child.

Fang-tastic Howl-O-Ween

When: Saturday, October 19, 6-10pm

Where: Broderick Park Recreation Center

What: Broderick Park Recreation Center is hosting its inaugural Fang-Tastic Howl-O-Ween event. Join in for this free event if you dare -- Trunk or Treat, games, arts & crafts, dance room, and haunted scare zones. Costumes encouraged.

Halloween at Saddle Up

When: Sunday, October 20, 3-6pm

Where: Saddle Up Riding Club

What: Save the date for Halloween at Saddle Up Riding Club! Activities include a costumed horse ride, spooky trail, free hayride, games, farm animals, and more.

Trunk or Treat Harvest Festival

When: Wednesday, October 23, 5-8pm

Where: Faith Community Church

What: Trunk or Treat will allow children to trick or treat in a unique way, from the trunks of cars! Vehicles are creatively decorated by families or local businesses. Kids can also enjoy bounce houses, pony rides, petting zoo, free hot dogs, food trucks, and more!

When: Thursday, October 24, 5:30-7pm

Where: St. Pete Beach Community Center

What: Come Trick-or-Treating in the parking lot from the spooky trunks of cars to get in the Halloween Spirit! Afterward, gather in Horan Park for a fun family-friendly Halloween themed movie.

Zombie Thriller Dance

When: Thursday, October 24, 7-9pm

Where: Museum of Fine Arts

What: Come watch (or join in) the ultimate Zombie Thriller Dance on the front steps of the Museum of Fine Arts. Performances take place every 30 minutes beginning at 7 pm. Don't know the dance yet? Rehearsals will be held every Thursday evening from 6:30-8:30 pm for those interested in participating.

Trunk or Treat

When: Friday, October 25, 4:30-6pm

Where: Allendale UMC

What: Ghouls and goblins of every size are invited to join the fun at Allendale UMC. There will be plenty of decorated trunks and treats for all trick-or-treaters!

Boo Bash

When: Friday, October 25, 5:30-7:30pm

Where: Jim and Heather Gills YMCA

Boo Bash is a fun and free YMCA event open to the public. Your little goblins are invited for activities including a trunk-or-treat, costume contest, inflatables, and other games.

Trunk or Treat at Grace

Where: Grace Lutheran Church

What: Join Grace Lutheran for a Trunk or Treat! Admission cost is $1 or a canned food item. Wristbands will be available for games and food.


When: Friday, October 25, 6-9pm

Where: McGough Nature Park

What: Creepy crawly animal shows, a spooky nature trail, candy, and toasted marshmallows are on the agenda for this night. This event is open to all ages and the cost is $5/person.

Halloween Spooktacular & Fall Festival

Where: Treasure Bay Golf, Tennis & Recreation Center

What: Join Treasure Island Recreation for the annual Halloween Spooktacular and Fall Festival! Come and enjoy all the spooky festivities including a haunted house.

Halloween Bash

When: Friday, October 25, 6:30-8:00pm

Where: Romp n' Roll

What: Join Romp n' Roll for some Halloween fun including fall crafts, games & activities, pizza & treats, and a bounce house. Cost is $15/child for members and $20/child for non-members. Parents are free! Update: this has sold out but a second Halloween Bash will take place on Saturday, October 26 from 5-6:30pm!

Stadium of Screams Haunted House & Fall Festival

When: Friday, October 25, 6-10pm & Sunday, October 27, 1-5pm

Where: Al Lang Stadium

What: This Halloween, kick fear up a notch and show support for the St. Petersburg Free Clinic and the Tampa Bay Rowdies Foundation at the inaugural Stadium of Screams! Join in for two terrific days of frightful fun. Friday: experience sheer terror as you explore your biggest fears and step into a dark world ruled by Hollywood’s most horrific creations, all hell-bent on making sure you won’t make it out alive. Sunday: turn down the screams and bring the family for fun and a little less fear. Enjoy Halloween family-classics on the main board, silent auction, food trucks, bounce house, and more family activities. All proceeds will be donated to the St. Petersburg Free Clinic and the Rowdies Foundation.

Field of Screams: The Village

When: October 25-28, 7pm-12am

Where: Boyd Hill Environmental Studies Area

What: You won’t want to miss the TASCO’s 14th Annual Field of Screams featuring “The Village!” You will be challenged to escape the Village, navigate through the dark woods, and flee to safety. Are you ready to face your deepest fears? Ticket pre-sale begins 10/1. Not suitable for young children; parental discretion advised.

Pumpkin Painting & Fall Activities

When: Saturday, October 26, 10-11:45am

Where: The Littlest Trunk

What: Come paint a small pumpkin and let your kids explore and play with the pumpkin-spice playdough and fall-inspired sensory bins! Available times:10:00 - 10:45am &11:00 -11:45am. For children ages 2-7; $20/child and$10/sibling.

Country Jubilee

When: Saturday, October 26, 10am-1pm

Where: Heritage Village

What: Wear your Halloween costume and trick-or-treat in the park while enjoying live music, vendors, food court, living history activities, children's activities, and more. The suggested donation is $5; free for children under 12.

PAW Patrol Trick-or-Treating Event

When: Saturday, October 26, 10am-1pm

Where: Participating Target Stores

What: Celebrate Halloween at your local Target. Kids are invited to come in costume and trick-or-treat their way through the store, plus watch an exclusive episode of PAW Patrol. There will be exciting giveaways, too!

Fall Art Frenzy: Morean Family Day

When: Saturday, October 26, 10am-2pm

Where: Morean Arts Center

What: Costumes are encouraged at this family event that features hands-on art activities, face painting, artist demonstrations, and art created by school children and professional mural and street artists. Free for members; non-member admission is $2/adult and $1/child.

The Great Eeks-ploration

When: Saturday, October 26, 10am-2pm

Where: Great Explorations Children's Museum

What: Join Great Ex for a day of fun, safe, and slightly spooky science and art. Guests can join the Education team for Critter Shows, experiment with smoke ring science, and play with polymer worm-goo. This spooky, slimy day will be the perfect amount of fun and fright for children of all ages! The cost of this event is included with general admission and is free for members.

Where: Madeira Beach Recreation

What: Join Madeira Beach & Gulf Beaches Rotary for Wag-O-Ween featuring pet-friendly vendors, onsite animal adoptions, dog-friendly raffle prizes, local food trucks, craft brews, and live music. There will also be a dog costume contest for small, medium, large, and extra-large breeds. Admission is free but donations to CASA are encouraged.

Wiggle, Giggle, Sing & Dance: Halloween Spook-tacular

When: Saturday, October 26, 10:30-11:30am

Where: Barbara S. Ponce Public Library

What: Join Barbara S. Ponce Public Library for a kids Halloween Dance Party and trick-or-treating. Family-friendly costumes are encouraged. All ages are welcome. Registration is required.

Trains and Costume Contest

When: Saturday, October 26, 10:30am-12:00pm

Where: HR Trains & Toys

What: This is a combined event for both the Little Engineer's and Junior Engineer's Club for children ages 3 - 13. Activities include train table play, other activities, and a costume contest with prizes. Participants receive a coupon to use in the store. Cost is $5; registration required.

Howl-O-Ween Pet Fest & PAWrade

When: Saturday, October 26, 12-4pm

Where: Green Bench Brewing Co.

What: Push, pull or carry your furry friend in the most spooktacular PAWrade of the year! Costume entries are judged on both the pet’s and the pet human’s costume. There will also be pet adoptions, games, food, vendors, training tips, demos, give-a-ways, and more!

Halloween Spooktacular

When: Saturday, October 26, 12-5pm

Where: Largo Central Park

What: Largo Central Park is transformed into a family fun fall festival for the Annual Halloween Spooktacular event. Free Trick-or-Treating from 12-4 pm and carnival of activities from 12-5pm. A wristband is required for carnival games, inflatables and petting zoo. Pre-sale begins 10/1.

Thrill the World St. Pete

Where: Ferg's Sports Bar & Grill

What: Join Thrill the Burg for St. Petersburg's 10-year celebration of the Worldwide Global Dance of Michael Jackson's Iconic Thriller Dance! All participants in St. Pete will be participating as part of a World Record attempt. To help celebrate ten years, a Benefit Concert with The Black Honkeys for Thrill The Burg Children's Charity, Inc. will take place after the Thriller dance. The event also includes a DJ, vendors, games, costume contests, drink specials, and more. The official Thrill the World dance is at 6pm. The event itself is free and open to the public. Donations suggested. Individuals wanting to dance in the Thrill the World dance need to sign-up and pay $10. Free dance lessons will be given throughout the year.

Historic Uptown's Trick-or-Treat Trail

Where: Historic Round Lake Park

What: Dress in your Halloween best and be ready to fill your treat bags at the 3rd annual Historic Uptown Neighborhood Association Trick-or-Treat Trail around Round Lake Park. Free and friendly for all ages, we like to think of it as a trial run for the big night.

Fall Festival

When: Saturday, October 26, 5-7pm

Where: St. Luke's UMC

What: All are invited to St. Luke's annual Fall Festival! There will be hot dogs and hamburgers, vendors, games, bounce house, kids costume contest, and a pumpkin pie eating contest.

Fall Fest 2019

Where: J.W. Cate Recreation Center

What: Central Christian Church hosts Fall Fest 2019! Invite all your family and friends to this free event. There will be a trunk-or-treat, bounce houses, food, games, and lots of candy.

Pumpkin Fest

When: Sunday, October 27, 12-4pm

Where: Florida Botanical Gardens

What: Start with a pumpkin and leave with a Jack-O-Lantern, just in time for Halloween. Templates, pumpkin carving stations, and kid-friendly carving tools will be provided. Also enjoy Kona Ice, a spooky planter workshop, Halloween-themed music, and scarecrow contest. Cost is $5 per pumpkin.

Pumpkin Painting Fundraiser

When: Sunday, October 27, 1-6pm

Where: 3 Daughters Brewing

What: Paint a pumpkin at this fundraiser for Trusting the Process, a local non-profit that serves our at-risk communities.There will also be live bands, food, photo booths, braid bars, amazing raffles, and an outdoor market. Cost is $20 per adult pumpkin painting ticket and $5 per child ticket.

Jack-O-Lantern Contest

When: Sunday, October 27, 2:30-5pm

Where: Kenwood's Organic Produce

What: Bring your pre-carved pumpkin to Kenwood's Organic Produce for a Jack-O-Lantern contest! Winners will be awarded with fresh produce prizes. Also at the event: Florida Skunk Rescue, Ray's Vegan Soul Food, and other activities for the kids.

What: Join the Historic Old Northeast Neighborhood Association for an early chance to show off the kids' costumes. There will be ghostly games, face painting, and lots of candy -- plus contests for scariest and most creative car trunks.

What: Halloween brings out the child in everyone at the Third Annual Trick-or-Treating with Seniors at The Fountains at Boca Ciega Bay. Organized in partnership with Sunshine City Kids, this event is open to kids of all ages and offers an opportunity to celebrate with the residents of the retirement community.

Spooky Story Time Halloween Party

When: Tuesday, October 29, 3:30-4:30pm

Where: Gulf Beaches Public Library

What: Join the library for a spooky storytime and Halloween party for preschool through elementary-aged children. Stories, snacks crafts, and candy!

Tots Trick-or-Treat

When: Wednesday, October 30, 10am-12pm

Where: Great Explorations Children's Museum

What: Children ages 5 and under are invited to join Great Ex for an age-appropriate,  morning Halloween celebration. Trick-or-Treat and participate in holiday art and science tables stationed around the museum. Then join in for a dance party and show off your costumes in a Halloween Parade at 11:30am kicking off from the Raymond James Stage.  The cost of this event is included with general admission and is free for members.

Where: Abundant Life Ministries

What: Bring the family out to Abundant Life's annual Fall Festival for an evening full of fun, food, and more! A $5 wristband will give each child access to games, inflatables, petting zoo, an escape room, hayride, entertainment, trunk or treat and more. Food will be available for purchase. Family-friendly costumes are welcome.

Lego Maniacs: Brick-or-Treat

When: Thursday, October 31, 4-5pm

Where: Gulfport Public Library

What: It's a spooky brick party! Join Gulfport Public Library for Lego Maniacs and trick-or-treating in the library. Come dress up and take turns building lego ghosts and pumpkins. Lego blocks provided to all Master Builders. DUPLO blocks for the younger crowd. Build something from scratch or use instructions provided by the library.

What: The fun starts at Center Court for a night of mall-wide trick-or-treating at participating stores. Other activities include arts and crafts, live DJ, photo bus, vendors, Tampa Bay Lighting Rolling Thunder and Thunderbug's Kids Club, and games with Great Explorations Children’s Museum.

Where: Historic Old Northeast Neighborhood

What: This iconic neighborhood near downtown St. Pete transforms into a spooky wonderland full of elaborate decorations, making it our favorite October 31st tradition. Other reasons we love Halloween in HONNA: streets closed to traffic, friendly neighbors, and some really great photo ops that capture the spirit of the season.

Preserve the 'Burg's Movies in the Park

When: Thursday, October 31, 6-9pm

Where: North Straub Park

What: Preserve the ‘Burg has a special Halloween evening planned for this edition of Movies in the Park. Costume contests for kids and adults, treats, live music, vendors, and a showing of Scooby Doo and the Scary Scarecrow followed by the silent film version of The Phantom of the Opera make this a night you don’t want to miss.

Oktoberfest 2019

Where: Thomas "Jet" Jackson Recreation Center

What: A fun and safe community event for kids presented by St. Petersburg Parks & Recreation! FREE candy, food, bounce houses, games, face painting and more.

Halloween Treat Trail

Where: England Brothers Park

What: Come on down to England Brothers Park for the annual Pinellas Park Halloween Treat Trail! This free event is for all ages where they may collect candy donated by local businesses and community organizations. Activities, costume contest, prizes, refreshments, and popcorn will be provided.

Where: Frank Pierce Recreation Center

What: Another fun St. Petersburg Parks and Recreation event, this Trunk or Treat is free and family-friendly. Register in advance to include your decorated car in the happenings.

Where: City on a Hill Church

What: This neighborhood party full of safe family fun includes free food and drinks, a Tent or Treat on the Midway, games, inflatables, outdoor theater, non-scary costumed characters, and more.

Where: James Ernst Park

What: Come Trick-or-Treat with the Kenneth City Police officers at this safe Halloween event! The event works in partnership with local businesses to make this a spooktacular Community Policing Event, handing out candy and Halloween safety tips for kids of all ages.
